Heyo! My blog post may be a bit shorter today than usual, but I really feel like talking about today's studies.
So I didn't make TOO much progress in the grand scheme of things, but what I did learn is a valuable part of understanding hiragana. Did I mention that the individual symbols in Japanese are called "kana"? It surely explains "katakana", although I don't know what the "kata" means. Maybe it has to do with foreign affairs, as katakana is used to write foreign words.
I pretty much finished up learning the hiragana chart by ear now. Today, I learned something called dakuten. Dakuten is a section of the hiragana that re-uses symbols in the chart, while adding little distinctions, to make them completely different characters. It seems like the creators of the language got kinda lazy, huh. Ehh, I don't blame em. They created such a complex language!
In conclusion, although I'm trying to get a grasp on my overly "busy" life, I am still making progress in language comprehension, and I feel like I'm making decent progress!
I love you guys! I'll see you tomorrow!
Oh, and before I forget, I'm gonna mention this total BS that has been going on! On Saturday, I ordered a couple Japanese textbooks, and threw in a nice "2 day shipping", courtesy of Amazon Prime, (Thanks Grandma!) hoping that 'd have my books ASAP. Well... two days from Saturday is.... humm.... let's count... Sunday, one, monday, TWO! :( And guess what! Today's Wednesday! I was so excited to learn, but I guess not! I sure hope it comes tomorrow, or I am so sending Amazon an unpleasant email! :P
